These old-fashioned oatmeal cookies have a chewy texture, packed with chopped nuts, raisins, dried cranberries, and a good dose of cinnamon. They were the first cookies I ever baked, and to this day, they’re still my top pick.
1. Place sugars and butter in mixing bowl. Mix until well blended.
2. Add egg, vanilla, and cinnamon, mix again.
3. Add in flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt and mix again until blended and a dough is formed.
4. Add in oats, raisins, cranberries, and walnuts and mix just until incorporated.
5. Spoon by heaping tablespoonfuls onto greased baking sheets. Top with a few additional raisins of each color.
6. Bake at 350 for twelve to fifteen minutes until the edges are lightly browned.
7. Remove from oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before removing from cookie sheets and cooling completely.
